About EMiS

The 2019 EuroWalk is an initiative founded by the Edinburgh Activists of the European Movement in Scotland (EMiS). The cross-party organisation was set up in the wake of two world wars to foster greater co-operation and understanding between Scotland and Europe. It organises cultural and political events, with the aim of facilitating closer ties to our European partners.

Since the Brexit referendum in 2016, the organisation has been dedicated to presenting the positive case for Scotland's place in Europe, and rebutting the deluge of misinformation, delusion and prejudice, which has characterised the debate over Europe.

EMiS is a grassroots membership organisation, with over 2,500 supporters in Scotland - Edinburgh's activists are amongst its busiest, and welcome new members and volunteers.

To find out more about the work of EMiS, or to join its ranks, see links to its website below.

Edinburgh Activists Group

Dubbed recently the British 'capital of Remain', 'Auld Reekie' is served by a group of activists as dedicated as any! A weekly diet of vigils for Europe and information stalls is maintained to cut through the nonsense, and make the case for continued Scottish membership of the EU. Automatic membership of this group is granted to EMiS members residing in Edinburgh
